Dirt Candy 2019 Grenache Barbera
Dirt Candy is a new brand by Hunter Valley couple Daniel & Jenni Payne.
A kooky blend that really works! Two big varieties that come together seamlessly with aromas of cherry and cinnamon with balanced tannins, medium acidity and plush berries. Built for current enjoyment and perfect with duck, grilled steak or with a nice hunk of aged cheddar.
The fruit was machine harvested from a single vineyard in Monash, South Australia. The grapes were then crushed and fermented in stainless steel using a mix of two different yeast strains for added complexity. It was then aged in 5 year old French oak Puncheons for subtle Oak influence and to allow the fruit to shine through. This wine is light enough that it can be served at both room temperature or lightly chilled and will be best consumed over the next 5+ years.
Perfect with Duck, grilled steak or rich seafood.
