Winmark Wines has a rich viticultural history, dating back to 1972 when the first vines were planted with Penfolds clone on block 4 of the 28 acre vineyard. The icon ‘seven two’ heralds the move to produce this Chardonnay exclusively using the premium fruit of Block 4. Winmark proudly presents the first release of this icon Chardonnay 72 honouring the 50th anniversary of these vines. This small batch Chardonnay will only be produced in outstanding years.

Hand harvested and whole bunch pressed, the precious fruit was fermented with indigenous yeast and spent 11 months in French Oak. An opulent, creamy palate is underpinned by a beautiful line of acidity and a long lingering finish. With careful cellaring this Chardonnay will continue to develop beautifully, or enjoy its youthful vibrancy now.
