After 38 years at the helm of Brokenwood, Iain Riggs knows a thing or two about Semillon. Made in partnership with friend Peter Wiggs, the Mangerton Semillon is a fuller style than the Block 1 but with all the classic zippy minerally traits we love in Hunter Semillon.
From 30 year old, low yielding vines this is an intensely citrus, beautifully structured wine. A classic Hunter Valley Semillon that will go for 20+ years.
Lifted aromas of citrus and lemongrass are layered over mineral zesty notes. The palate is long and refreshing displaying primary fruit character of citrus and white peach.
This is a stunning single vineyard Semillon made 100% from the Blackberry vineyard, one of the region’s rare sandy soil vineyards that the very best Semillons are grown on.
A quirky blend for a quirky bird. Ian & Suzanne have a special affinity for the lyre bird and have made a quirky blend of Verdelho, Pecorino, Vermentino and Albariño to make a crisp, easy drinking wine. Delicious (the wine not the bird).
Pinot Grigio is the common Italian name for the French variety Pinot Gris. The wine is well balanced between fruitiness and acidity. The flavour is distinctive, complex crisp and lively. Crisp green apple and pear give it a nice crunchy texture.
Aromas of lime zest, nashi pear and sea spray with flavours of juicy lime, sherbet and lemon balm on the palate. Textural with mineral notes amd fresh acidity and a characteristic touch of salinity, paying homage to its coastal origins.
Albarino is a wonderful variety that is well suited to the Hunter Valley. Made without the use of oak, this is a riot of aromas and flavours. Spice and lime collide with fruit salad culminating in a delicious, crisp minerality.
