David Hook 2018 Reserve Sangiovese
Grown on a small block adjacent to the Belford winery, in 2018 drought led to low yields and a small but intensively flavoured parcel of grapes. The resulting wine is fragrant, fresh and juicy with savoury dark berry fruit, lavender and rosemary with a lovely supple acidity.
Sangiovese is Italy's most widely planted variety and responsible for some of its greatest wines from Chianti and Brunello di Montalcino. Wines made from this variety are elegant and forceful with alluring aromas of plums and dried underbrush with fresh cherry and earthy flavours medium tannins and bright acidity.
