John Wallace 2022 Tilba Rosé
The name John Wallace may not sound familiar to those in the winemaking industry. However, winemaker Richard Done has been helping to produce some of the Hunter Valley’s best wines for the past 15 years; Scarborough Wines, Thomas Wines, Hunter’s Dream Estate, and currently Bimbadgen Estate, to name a few.
When it came to naming his winemaking business, Richard decided to honour his grandfathers, John and Wallace, .
This first release rosé has been named after Tilly, the family labrador, who has been playing at wineries since she was 8 weeks old. Made with a blend of Sangiovese and Pinot Gris grapes, Richard has created a wine displaying a delicate lift of pink grapefruit, pear and cranberries, winding through the palate with a sense of texture, creaminess and a savoury crisp finish.
