Hart & Hunter 2015 The Remparts Semillon
A truly great year for making semillon in the Hunter Valley, with near perfect spring conditions and rain at the right time.
Whilst walking through the vineyard we stumbled across brass plates on the end post trellis, most of which turned out to be the names of families that helped to plant or prune in this vineyard at some point over the years. One that caught our eye, had an engraving of a couple hugging together and was called the Remparts. It seemed an appropriate name for our wine, whilst providing us an emotional link to the vineyard.
Enjoy this wine with an Italian mezze plate or beer battered sardines and aioli.
Drink now, but will reward careful cellaring for 7+ years.
